Matt Gaetz & the GOP Makes America Polluted Again

I am starting a new series "GOP Makes America Polluted Again" highlighting the climate deniers especially those in our own government.  We JUST cleaned up the air in NYC and LA and so forth and there are government officers who are rolling back more than 80 environmental regulations since the current administration started.  The rivers and lakes in this country have been cleaned up over the last 50 years and GOP wants them to go back to being dirty and polluted. Go read Robert Redford's op-ed in the Washington Post.  This so-called representative Gaetz has voted against bills regulating coal mining operations near streams and groundwater! There are other things he is against, like sanctions for Russia, de-regulating teacher certification programs, energy companies disclosing payments to foreign governments (Russia are you listening?) GOP will tear America apart, removing all structures, safeguards and regulations. I visited his page at http://gaetz.house.gov ...

FaceBook Political Propaganda - Beware - they are not policing

From the folks that gave your data to Cambridge Analytica for the 2016 election - and were fined $5 Billion for --- here is more horsedoody... Read the latest: http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/10/9/20906612/trump-campaign-ad-joe-biden-ukraine-facebook   Ordinary users who push lies online, especially in a coordinated manner, face a range of consequences, up to an outright ban from the platform. Politicians, however, do NOT!  Hypocracy!  FaceBook CEO recently met with Trump and rescinded the prior policy so that political ads would escape the scrutiny. (ugh.. what's a CEO of a media company meeting with the president? he also meets with Putin 3 times a year... Nuts, I tell you....)  Beware FaceBook Propaganda. Better yet, stay the heck away from FaceBook. Need to share photos? That's easy. You don't need Facebook taking all your data for that very reason. Also remember in 2014, Facebook REWROTE entries on 650K user walls in an "experim...

Mason Brook Cascade/Falls in Mason NH

This was alternately referred to as "The Falls" or "Pratt Falls" (since it is near Pratt Pond). At any rate, you can find these lovely Cascades along Mason Brook by setting your GPS to the interesection of Rt 123 and Cascade Rd. in Mason NH. Park along Rt. 123 and then it's a very short walk down Cascade Rd (unpaved). Very soon you will see the falls that cross under the road.  There is somewhat of a path on the lower cascade that you can follow. Alternatively, here are GPS coordinates for the location to orient yourself on Google Maps: 42.7363,-71.7664

Phil's Old Fashioned BBQ - Milford, NH

Check him out on Facebook, give him a call 603-831-9238. Get you pulled pork, your BBQ chicken, cornbread, beans, slaw and a variety of sauces. They show up around April if the space near the old driven-in (!yah!) has been plowed, and they're here until October. Good stuff!

Foregoing the realtor

This is not as hard at all however the benefits go all to the seller , not the buyer.  All you need is a Purchase and Sale agreement that each of you sign.  That form is generally dummied up enough in the state where you are doing this. That's where you propose the closing date, the terms, etc. As a  buyer you should ALWAYS agree to an inspection: spend the big bucks as for example most people don't check for radon. It will set you back more than $1K so you want to make sure that the seller do this. Folks in New England can just about count on having radon with all the great bedrock and granite that abounds. More later. (Just testing this first blog entry).
